Welcome to A season of change!
As we transition from 2022 to 2023, Cahoot?! Physical Theatre has started to undergo a transformation - after surviving the Covid-19 pandemic, we have begun preparing ourselves for a sustainable and long-lasting future. From free community workshops to the premiere of our second original show, A Red Herring, we have been hard at work devising, rehearsing, and brainstorming a plethora of projects. In addition, we have started transitioning from our fiscal sponsorship towards becoming an independent arts nonprofit! In order to do all of this, we're inviting you to join us on a journey of transformation and metamorphosis: A Season of Change.
We've been joined by a new friend for A Season of Change! Say hello to Carl the Caterpillar! Just like Cahoot?! Physical Theatre, Carl is new to the world and is excited to undergo his metamorphosis. From now until the Spring Equinox on March 20th, 2023, you can give him the food and encouragement he needs to grow by donating to Cahoot?! Physical Theatre! All donations are tax deductible and go towards helping Cahoot?! Physical Theatre create free and accessible world-class theatre and arts education in Minnesota! What happens to Carl when you donate, you ask?
As you donate to Cahoot?! Physical Theatre, Carl the Caterpillar will begin to grow and transform into a beautiful butterfly! We have an initial goal of $2,500 - can we reach the goal by the start of Spring? For every milestone of this fundraiser, Carl will show you just how much he's been growing - and how much Cahoot?! Physical Theatre has been doing! We're also excited to announce that an anonymous donor will match the first $700 in donations! We are incredibly grateful to this person - thank you for your generosity! Keep reading to learn how your donations will help us grow!
In May 2023, we will premiere our second original show, A Red Herring, in Minneapolis. This farcical detective-noir will feature lively characters and colorful circumstances as the story transforms a fairly empty space into a variety of locations using minimal set pieces, bold physicality, and shadow puppetry. Join us on a tour of Triton City — from the depths of the city sewer system to the top of the largest skyscraper — and see if you can solve the mystery of the Crimson Clupeidae. As always, this production will be free-of-charge for all audience members! We are currently in rehearsal for A Red Herring, and your donations will help us build the myriad of puppets, set pieces, and costumes for this hilarious and melodramatic farce!
Cahoot?! Physical Theatre has been busy developing and implementing a new educational program. From storytelling to clown, we have been providing free arts education to a variety of ages and class sizes throughout the Twin Cities. We recently visited libraries in St. Paul and taught workshops on Clown for ages 2-5 and had an absolute blast! Your donations will help us continue to provide free workshops for all ages/communities in the Twin Cities and beyond! To learn more about our workshop programming, click here!
