Jacob Snyder Timmons

Jacob Snyder Timmons is a theatre-maker and educator from Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his BFA in Theatre Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before heading off to Blue Lake, California to earn his MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from Dell’Arte International. In addition to performance, Jacob has also worked as a director, playwright, designer, and puppeteer -- devising a 45-minute solo puppet show Short Circuit. Jacob has previously worked with Raleigh Little Theatre as a teaching artist, actor, and conservatory instructor of movement; North Carolina Theatre for Young People as an actor and puppet designer; and was a founding member of the Springdale Players, a group of young theatre professionals performing in non-traditional spaces, including Arsenic and Old Lace in a living room and kitchen, and Peter and the Starcatcher in a backyard and rooftop. Jacob is passionate about arts education and arts accessibility. He currently works at the youth development research center Search Institute in Minneapolis, and has served as a grant review panelist for the Minnesota State Arts Board and Metro Regional Arts Council and as an artistic evaluator for the Minnesota State Arts Board.
