Jacob Snyder Timmons

Jacob Snyder Timmons is a theatre-maker and educator from Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his BFA in Theatre Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before heading off to Blue Lake, California to earn his MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from Dell’Arte International.
Jacob has previously worked with Raleigh Little Theatre as a teaching artist, actor, and conservatory instructor of movement; North Carolina Theatre for Young People as an actor and puppet designer; was a founding member of the Springdale Players in Greensboro, NC; and coordinated arts programming at East Side Arts Council in St. Paul, MN. Jacob also spent four years working at Search Institute, an international research center focused on cultivating positive youth development. At Search, Jacob translated research into practice by working with individuals and organizations to implement policies, trainings, and resources for the wellbeing of young people around the world. Jacob has provided guidance and trainings with schools across the US in urban, suburban, and rural communities as well as organizations like the Trevor Project, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and UP Partnership.
Jacob is passionate about arts education and arts accessibility. He has served as a grant review panelist for the Minnesota State Arts Board and Metro Regional Arts Council and as an artistic evaluator for the Minnesota State Arts Board.
As the Executive Director of Cahoot?! Physical Theatre, Jacob focuses on building operational systems that support artists and artmaking. By creating structures that are collaborative and empower the individuals involved, Jacob brings his ensemble-based training into arts administration to bridge the worlds of creativity and operations.
