Cahoot?!’s pedagogy focuses on the joy of theatre-making and the play that comes from sincere curiosity. From workshops with Pre-K youth to advanced training with professional artists, Cahoot?!’s educational programming reinforces process over product and centers the many discoveries that occur when theatre-makers of any age and proficiency are allowed the space to play, imagine, and dive into something new.
Reframing Success
Rather than dwell on the external ideas of what is considered “successful” theatre, the emphasis of Cahoot?!’s educational programs is that students are simply expected to be open to possibilities. Even in skill-building programs like a juggling workshop, success is not defined by the ability to conclude the class with flawless juggling prowess, but rather that an interest was sparked that will allow students the ability to continue to learn and play as they develop their skills.
